On a beach in Normandy, unprecedented archaeological discoveries lead a team of archaeologists on the trail of a Celtic people whose culture seems to differ from that of their neighbours in the rest of Gaul. Beneath the fine sand, exceptionally well-preserved remains are gradually coming to light. Time is running out before marine erosion destroys forever the last traces of the men and women who lived here between the 2nd and 1st centuries BC. Little by little, the investigation reveals the way of life of this coastal people and their links with the Mediterranean world and the populations of the island of Britain, now England.
