Gauls in the plain
The construction site of a high school in the town of Riom in the Puy-de-Dôme is an opportunity for archaeologists to excavate the remains of an "indigenous farm" dating from the 2nd century BC. This agricultural establishment Gallic recalls that of the "Pâtural", discovered at a few kilometers away in the 1980s. These sites, contemporary with the first "capital" of the Arverne people (the Gallic agglomeration of Aulnat-Gandaillat) , testify to an organization of the territory common to all of the Gaul.
