Briga, the forgotten city- David Geoffroy | Documentary

Mysterious ruins rise up in the middle of a Norman forest, the place is called “Bois l’Abbé”, near the town of Eu.

In the 19th century, the first archaeological research on site suggested the existence of an enormous Roman sanctuary.

In the early 2000, while the area was being regularly plundered, the archaeologist Etienne Mantel undertook new archeological excavations.

Year after year, they are continuously surprised, the site gradually reveals it’s secrets and Etienne Mantel ’s first intuition that a forgotten Roman town was hidden under the forrest is confirmed : an authentic city reappears.

Spectacular discoveries follow one another until a breakthrough that many archaeologists dream of: the name of the unknown city at last revealed, BRIGA.
