Galerie Marco Nunes - Ceramics of the 20th century

The twentieth century marked a turning point in the arts of fire. Ceramists, who were both artists and craftsmen, played a part in the renewal of the decorative arts. Clay became a medium of creation, in the same way as the works created by painters and sculptors. During the twentieth century, ceramics, at once imbued with a history of popular arts and marked by the discovery of productions from outside Europe, enabled artists to open up their fields of investigation. The result of this plastic, technical and philosophical research will be creations that are specific to an individual or a society.
