OTHERWISE WE ARE LOST
A documentary film by
Jean-Louis Dubois-Chabert
As Polish Jews, Chaïm and Ruchla Strum owed their survival during the Second World War to the solidarity and complicity of ordinary French people. In July 1942, a Communist policeman and his wife warned them that the Vel' d'hiv round-up was imminent. The following year, when their situation had become more than perilous in a France where the free zone no longer existed, a family in Vienne hid them away until the end of the war.

WE REFUGEES
A documentary film by
Ivan Sougy
Germany, 1933. Hitler seized power and forced German Jews into exile, as they fled Nazi persecution between 1933 and 1939. How did the young Hannah Arendt and millions of German Jews flee their country to take refuge in France? How did France turn from a land of welcome into a hell for all the exiles?
Travelling across Europe from East to West, from Berlin to Paris, as far as the United States and New York, we will meet German, French and American historians, jurists and philosophers to tell the story of Hannah Arendt and this world whose echoes can still be heard today.

THE SLEEPING GIANT
A documentary film by
David Geoffroy
In the heart of the Auvergne region, the Puy de Dôme overlooks the volcanoes of the Puy chain. From the town of Clermont-Ferrand, all you have to do is look up to admire the tall silhouette of the sleeping volcano. It stands there like a lighthouse guiding travellers, an immutable guardian of the horizon and an indispensable meteorological witness for the inhabitants of the lower Auvergne. From generation to generation, the men and women who are born and live in the department to which it gives its name have maintained a special bond with this strange volcano.
